Continuing exploring the depths of my garage I've just found a wingrack.  Paint's peeling a bit but it should all be there and it has the indicators.   Very much doubt it has the entire mounting kit though as I had it on my Mk1 with an aftermarket exhaust and used a combination of bits from the proper fitting kits and a universal kit.  If anyone interested i'll drag it out and take some photos so we can work out what's there and what's missing.

If it's missing the bracket that sits under the rear cowling, which most people forget to take off when removing the kit, it's probably still fitted to his bike so he'd be the ideal buyer :D

Looks like all the bits might well be there.

The other Y shaped piece is still on the back of one of the side racks, and I think it might be missing a spacer, as I remember having a stack of washers on one of the bolts.

The two bars on the bottom right are from the universal mounting kit which I used to raise the rear of the rack a bit to ensure the panniers cleared my aftermarket exhausts.  I'm assuming a Mk2 would need a different fitting kit though.

I've been tempted to ask about this so here goes lol

Would I have much work to make them fit a mk2 850 ? > (have a full workshop of gear and can make parts if necessary)

How much you looking for them incl post to uk address ?

I've got aftermarket exhausts that are a bit higher up than stock so would be taking a chance but god loves a chancer or something like that :D

I was thinking £50 + postage, looks like postage to Ireland should be around £20, mainland UK a tenner or if you know anyone near Aldershot they could pick it up.

The combination of the Mk1 kit and the universal bits make it pretty adaptable, but the bit you might need to make, as I don't know if the Mk1 bit is the same, is the bracket that sits under the rear cowling, the bit in the middle right of the pic with the two right angled bends.  This attaches to the rear subframe to give a mount at the back of the bike, which then attaches to the Y shaped bracket in the top middle/right of the pic.

I'm sure there was some discussion on here a few years ago with someone sorting out the measurements for that part to make some up, as its often missing from second hand sets as people forget to take it off the bike.

On my Mk1 I used the standard rails that go to the pillion footpeg hangers, but then used the spacer brackets from the universal kit to lift it up a bit and clear my exhaust. The smaller kinked bars on the bottom right of the above pic are the universal kit parts that are supposed to replace these, but I used them to attach to an extra mounting point as well.

This is the best pit I can find of it mounted on my Mk1 to show how it fitted together.

Now that I see it fitted I don't think it will work my exhausts are very high up but I'll measure and see but I doubt very much I'll be able to make it work :(

What pipes have you got? That's a Motad Nexus which I replaced with a Laser Prostock, both ok with the modded brackets, but I've seen few longer cans that would definitely struggle.

They are carbon can co. pipes and they sit at least 4 to 6 inches higher than your ones so I doubt they would work, I might end up having to make a custom rack to sit just outside the pipes

Yeah that's pretty high. Take a look at the Givi PL series pannier racks quite a few of us have on 900s, something like that might be a lot easier to adapt.
