Sorry to pinch the thread a bit, but I'm after a bit of help. Started stripping down to check the clearances on the 9'er and the metal coolant pipe on the left hand side (looking from the front) took some getting out. The pipe is a little bit damaged on the head end. Should the pipe be straight? mine has all sorts of kinks and creases in it due to getting it out. At first I thought, no probs, onto Fowlers and get another. £64!!!
A short, bent metal pipe with a bit of welding.
Also, is the O ring rubber/synthetic? mine didn't appear to have one. It could have perished/got destroyed getting the pipe out.
Ta.
Ok, just spotted a piccy showing it as straight.

When reading a book to learn something is too much stress for the brain, get a video !

Should be synthetic rubber (NBR, EPDM, HNBR, FKM, VMQ, ACM, AEM, Polyurethane, PTFE, FKM-FEP, VMQ-FEP, etc.)

There is a post by Geordie Guy with pix of his coolant pipe. It is referred to in my post #29 in this thread:- http://www.carpe-tdm...pe ring&page=2
That post includes my pix with details of the O ring needed.
