Surface mount fuse box FBB8T.
Exactly what I did do. I soldered a copper cable across the rear terminals, and fused the link connecting to battery.
Piece of tubing split down the side, filled with silicon and fitted over terminals. Physical and water protection.
Whole hollow bottom part of box is overfilled with silicon to keep out water. Sticks it in place.

Yep! good.gif

Quite impressed how neat a solution this is. Although while I'd recommend it it most people it's definitely not for Ivan, since buying it from Nippy Normans I've been getting e-mails starting "Dear BMW owner"

Very impressive Chris ! I'm guessing it was much quicker to install compared to all them crimped terminals you did.

Is it waterproof ?

I've seen the internals of those Studley - if they're waterproof I'll be amazed. No more than an open fuze block would be I'd say.

Longer to install than the crimped stuff but way neater.

Not waterproof but its pretty well spaced inside and they claim it can cope with a soaking without shorting. It's fairly well protected inside the faring and any water that gets in will drain out again.

Now that you've resurrected this, I seem to remember reading through this before.

Have to ask Santa to visit the Nippy Norman website. Think I've now got the grey matter working correctly now as regards to cable sizes, fuses etc thanks to you. :good:

Now I just fly everywhere.

I have one of these as it has the common 12v feed on it and i have found no problems as regards reliability on it when used with a relay and correct wiring. I have heated grips, Garmin, 12v Aux socket for phone charging, Autocom, Bluetooth module for autocom and feed for HID light running.
