Tdm 900 - Non Starter Er-1

Morning. 

So I have a friends Bike in my garage as his had a few problems with his bike and this forum has been good to me. 

The usual HT leads shorting and loose HT caps. Leaking Oring on the top of the cylinders. This has all been fixed. 

 

Now Its got abit of a terminal problem with circa 28,000 miles.

 

Symptoms

Ignition on. 

everything lights up.

no fuel pump (all switchs are okay, kill switch, side stand and ignition[will multimeter this soon])

Tempature goes right up to hot.

 

Clock ecu code : ER-1 (no signals are received from the ECU)

 

Fuses Blown : Ignition and back up fuse. 

 

They blow every time the ignition is switched.

 

from what I can decipher from a wiring diagram. 

The back up is for the Immobiliser, [Thanks to JBX for the help, I will attempt to jump this]

 

I will check the wire from the ECU to clocks (yellow/blue)

 

I will dig abit deeper and see if there are potential shorts from chaffing. 

 

Trying to see if I can find any more people with previous issues but the search function isnt the greatest.

temp gauge is wrong, something is shorting.

Titanium brake pins front, Probolt Titanium Flanged Hex Front Caliper Bolts & Rear caliper slide pins Adventure Spec Tool tube under rear rack, left and right sides with custom alloy mounts.<p>Top Sellerie double gel pad seat. Carbon Fibre inner dash and side infill panels. Anodised black alloy swingarm pivot bolt covers and footpegs, Nano II Gear indicator.

Welcome to Carpe :welcome: . I can't say I'm aware of any incidents of the wiring chafing, but the multiblock terminals under the tank/airbox are prone to corrosion, so that would be the first place I'd look. As Lee said, this definitely sounds like something is shorting out  :wifgeni: , the ECUs themselves seem very reliable. Good luck with the diagnosis and keep us posted.
