Hi dazzer, think I'll change my booking to Hotel Jägersruh, also I'm on the same time as you on the eurotunnel.
Are you on a firm booking for original chateau, or can you cancel easily?
ETA I've booked in at jagersruh, but haven't cancelled the chateau yet, so if you can't cancel, I'll stay there with you. A few beers, not really bothered where I stay

Beta Alp 200. For falling off In muddy bits.
I suffer from C.D.O. It's like O.C.D. but all the letters are in the correct order, just as they should be.

Hi Manx,
I've also booked in to Hotel Jagersruh, Monschau for the 22nd & 27th (well I received a booking confirmation). So we can go ahead and cancel the bookings at "Chateau de la Neuville".
longish day for me, Bristol > Tunnel 185 miles and Tunnel > Monschau 220 miles (garmin reckons on 3.5 hours)
Lets hope there's a Gay bar in Monschau with all these 900 riders coming to town

Ok, will do. If nothing else, it's ten euro cheaper, and breakfast included as well. Just hope the beer is decent, reckon we'll need a couple after that ride!

Did a dry run on my packing today just to sort out what luggage I need to take (or more to the point, leave behind). Decided against the suitcase sized tankbag in favour of smaller and am actually going to use my panniers for once.

Just seen this in the Hotel Royal description:
" A particular service for you is provided by our beautiful, hotel-own Royal Café. Here, you might enjoy home-made cakes. "
