Hi all,
has anyone noted the CO setting for TDM 900. I seems to be having bit of fuelling problem and would just like to compare notes
My original setting were C1=5 and C2=22.
There is a difference between C1 and C2 this is primarily because the C2 Runs hotter than the C1
Has anyone changed the setting and if so was there a difference.
Thanks,
A

25 and 20, good responce.

30 and 25, smoother also 15 and 10 works well.

i found 10 and 10 a bit vibey on my bike.

you will have to give it a try, each bike might like slightly different settings.

Do you mean C1=30 and C2=25.
I have found that TDM900, 850 and TRX850 run hotter in C2 which can be seen in the slighly more discolouration of the C2 header pipe and therefore the TDM 900 are set to run richer on C2.
Any ideas/

is this not setting the level of CO in the exhaust?

so would the injection not compensate for minor mods and maintain the desired CO level??

is this why there is a sensor on the exhaust???

'Scuse my confusion, but I thought that was the point - to set the "burn" rate (CO level) for the performance you want, and the sensor will then keep the injectors informed and behaving themselves so as to target that setting?

Well I changed my settings last summer from C1 17 & C2 25 to C1 10 & C2 10. I've just gone into CO mode to find, lo and behold, C1 was now at 3 and C2 remained 10. So does that mean that it self regulates???

Nope. I followed the sequence diligently. Last time I set both C1 & C2 at 10 for sure. And C1 was now at 3!? So I don't know what's going on there.

As an aside I just did the airbox mod as well (I unhooked the wire from the flap rather than disconnect the hose). Took it out for a spin, having set CO to C1 14 and C2 22, and there was a marked improvement in throttle response. Also it needed much less throttle to start. Just slight blip as oppossed to a handful that I normally have to give it.

Even weirder muddy..........FI shouldn't need any throttle to start - sure you aren't drawing air somewhere?? unsure.gif

So the TDM has been in the Yamaha London Dealer last 2-3 days and They found nothing wrong with the ECU. Yamaha technical department has suggested to replace the Trottle Possitioning Sensor(TPS). This will happen middle of next week I have been told. has anyone had problem with the TPS,

I did wonder if this might turn out to be TPS rather than ECU. TPS probs are known about on the early 9's but I thought they were sorted by now. I sometimes wonder if mine operates the way it should. There is stuff on the old site about this I think... unsure.gif Dappers, Alan, over to you... help.gif
