That was a useful post - my 2004 delight has turned out to be a 2003 fraud, as confirmed by Yamaha. Does anyone know the difference in spec between the two, so I know how p*ssed off to be when 'chatting' to the dealer who sold it?

well i believe the 2003 model has different fork internals (softer) and possibly a different bore front mastercylinder, also the 04 model has an immobiliser as standard ???
how much did ya pay fer yer 900 ??

aha! thats interesting - found a bill for dealer fitted immobiliser, not something an 04 would need twice Paid 3,400 for it in july (on a sunny day) 18k miles at the time. Great bike, but not happy about question marks.. HPI was ok, though.

i tink ya did just fine at that price especially buying from a stealer, why not mention it to him/her and maybe they will give a deal on tyres (free even!!!) or do a service fer ya.

You must be psychic or something?? Want to get a couple of tyres to replace the square Bridgestones on at present. 6mm at the edge, 1mm centre - a bugger to turn in, but grips great once you're over the hump!! Conti, Mich, Metz probably.

mines a 4TX6 as well, but registered in feb 03, it doesn't match any of the pictures in the gallery for a 2000 bike.

i think a lot of them hung around in showrooms for some time before being sold off cheap.
