Had a KTM 390 Duke to dangle off the back of the van for 10 days then this came along. Same weight - lots more horses! What a hoot!  :badgerrock:

The wheels changed colour. How do you reach to get that off the back?

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

First wan is 390, second wan is the hootmobile, 690.

Von Eccles that 690 looks comfortable,  am i correct?  Does the decal on yer van say 'Ring Star' ?


spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

I'll refer you back to my comment of the 'Ladddds post re, ring Wickstar - cumfy as so far - only done arounf 60 miles on a stretch so far but seems fine, enough to know it's a keeper Too much shitty salt and gunge on the roads up here so I'll leave it in the garage for a wee bit longer.................

 

It's a hydraulic lifter Dappers - got it on Gumtree - even a short arse like me can use it without dropping my bollox on the floor..............................

I've got the earlier 620, the 690 is a bit smoother, and a bit more powerful, but they really are good fun :)

 

Designed with just one thing in mind

A mate of mine has the 690, and while still running it in, let me loose on it. Same-ish weight as my DR650 (RIP) and about the same power as the DL650 I have. Even though I limited the performance to running-in requirements, that thing was a blast. Steering response at the speed of thought, and surprisingly comfortable for a small bike-large rider combo. Would have loved to have taken it through our mountains. I was almost infected by the Orange Madness...
