Looking for the most recent led-lamp discussion I found this one. Hope I am right? As there are multiple (older) threads already, i wanted to prevent opening yet another one.
As I am trying to be a favorable TDM'er on the road I was gazing at these two LED solutions:
I would LOVE to know if anyone tried the Philips Ultinon Pro6000 or OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER H7-LED in his/hers TDM900 headlight casing.
Because of the (limited) car ECE-aproval of these it got me intrigued to say the least
Not searching for a rant about legal stuff. I do actually would like to go to a garage with the LED-conversion and test legitimacy of the actual light beam being thrown around. But if anyone already has done it and can tell me which Philips Adapter-Ring and/or if one of these fits snug (protected against dirt and such), I do not have to invent the hot water again... Maybe just test the beam. Heard of MOT situations where they pass headlight test, so that got me thinking to try-test it only when not crossing any borders...
When not suitable at all, they will be "incorporated" into my Focus as they have been "approved" for that one

Don't bother.
I put one of these or similar in my dip beam and the pattern was crap. I have the shape drawn on my garage wall to set the headlight aim, and this thing splatted light all over the place, so much so that I could not set the aim. I used a correct adapter. I've forgoten the details now - may be in my record book
I had tried the LED because a successful modification to use a HID lamp in my dip had to be removed because they were declared a MOT fail a couple of years ago, and I did the honest thing even tho' I could have taken a chance and left it in there to see if it was spotted. I would not want to get my MOT tester into trouble. The HID ballast and wiring is still on the bike. The HID was a good beam - it needed lowering a wee bit but that is what the target is for - and fair lit up the road. I now have a higher rated bulb in there, but they have a short life expectancy. I only wanted the dip upgraded.
