I bought one off ebay.......  dodgy enough except the company who sells them in the Republic of Ireland x-rays them as part of their inspection.

It was too long ago for me to find them in my ebay listings.

I think I've got an 18" front wheel with a legal tyre if you want to do a straight swap ?  Or I could take the tyre off, at least you know it's safe

Let me check tomorrow that it is still ok, it's in the empire of dirt which requires some careful space shifting to find

Sorry for the delay.... I've dug out the wheel and the tyre is legal as far as tread depth goes, but then I noticed the bulges. This is how the tyre was for an MOT and passed. It's a Dunlop Roadsmart 2 I think. The bulges couldn't be felt when riding, which I found odd.

If you're not already sorted out let me know   ...Tyre pic is here, showing bulges... https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/

You're welcome tuit, I would say it's borderline to a very thorough MOT tester, but any reasonable man might just make it an advisory item at worst.

I'll look at some postage quotes, I've never sent a tyre before......if you or anyone else knows the cheapest way please let me know. Send me your postcode via PM and I have something to work with

I've tried breaking the bead tonight but it's going to be tough, I've got a 20 stone mate coming around tomorrow, a combined 37 stone ought to do the job but if not the local bike shop will break it off for me probably

Just get a new tyre! I know they are an expense but it just isn't worth the risk.
