Just disassembled the clutch. The pressure point felt a bit weird.

Every think within spec's. All friction plates >3mm and no warping on the steel plates as far as I can tell.

Spings all >49mm.

So cleaned the friction plates and let them swim in oil.

Just a bit of pitting of these friction plates on the outer basket.

Anyone seen the same? Normal wear and fixed with deburring?

You can just feel it with your fingernail. Not deep, but it could explain the clutch behaviour.

You're quit right! It is usually sunny here, so shadows are pretty normal

I've stumbled upon another issue.

The inner clutch cage has a fair amount of play.

See pictures below. With the the clutch in second gear,I can turn the case aprox. 67 deg. back and forth.

Is this considered as normal or do I have a big problem ??

The engine has 120.000km and runs with a slight metalic sound, but it does that from the moment I've bought it.

That was at 63.000km and 6 years ago.

Just taking up the play in the gears via the chain...

When you mean, the play is caused by the play in the chain, that is not the case.

The front sprocket doesn't move at all when I move the inner clutch cage back and forth.

Same thing. You're just taking up the slack in the gears until the front sprocket/chain stops any further movement.

Edit...first reply said play in the gears not the chain..hth..over and out
