Morning all,

I've been troubleshooting a fueling issue for a couple of days causing the bike to not start.

The fuel pump fails to prime when the ignition is turned on. Found this relay (?) under the fuel tank and after a wiggle, disconnect/reconnect and reset is happy as Larry again.

I've taken a look through the workshop manual and the various wiring diagrams, but cannot work out what it actually is!

Any ideas what this part is? Is it a relay? an ECU of sorts?

Thanks!

Oh that would be helpful wouldn't it!

It's a 2008 '900. Non ABS.

This is on the left hand side of the bike, just under the rear of the fuel tank.

I had a similar issue. the thick red wire to the relay had failed at the spade terminal crimp. Inside the insulation

900 with better bits. Owes me nothing, Makes me smile

I believe I have now identified this as the "Starting circuit cut-off relay". Sounds expensive!

That is the starter relay, not the "Starting circuit cut-off relay".

The starting curcuit cut-off relay is what prevents the starter from operating when the fail-safe's are active (clutch switch, side stand switch, etc..)

I believe (better check) that it is this one: https://dk.fowlerspa...rt/5VK-81950-30

Not likely the component is at fault....if you temporarily fettled it by moving the harness plug then remove it and check for corrosion between the male/female pins and give each cable a good tug to check the cable to pin integrity....hth
