  • TDM model: 2010

I recently bought another TDM900 which is all original and 10 plate registered. The colour is blue with a black frame - does anyone know what colour code this would be?

I had a look at JBX pages and it seems there was no blue colour option for 2010 so I'm guessing it's a 2009 model and the colour for 2009 is listed as Thunder Blue (DPBMX) colour type C.

I just want a touch up paint for a couple of small scratches  but looking on the web I can't quite see anything that matches that text - will any of the 'Deep Purplish Blue Metallic' paints be correct?

cheers

Dan

Check the sticker under the seat then you can identify the colour.

If you click on 2010, there's only black and silver bikes, but for 2009 there's also a purplish blue

Aye, it's very nice and only 8000 miles from new....

Yep, I saw that on JBX pages - question is, is there only one shade of 'Dull Purplish Blue' ? There's loads of touch ups available on ebay for Dull Purplish Blue but can I just use any one of them?

I wouldn't trust an ebay colour, for a touch up I would probably pay a stealership price for yam paint.

No they're slightly different. Use the paint code 1090

EG 'yamaha paint code 1090' in searches

but as Favs says, it's on the frame for cross referencing

Your year might be code 1090 - DPBMC

As opposed to earlier code 0996 - DPBMU

My '09 plate bike is identical, bar my minor scratches, which I coloured in with the ink in a blue BIC pen, later polished over with a super resin shine.

I used a toothpick to apply the ink, blew on it and much later waxed over it. It looks ok and is waterproof.

I would say this, as per the screen shot,

but ring Fowlers, have your bike frame No ready, they will advise,

when I rang about mine (pictured) they initially  said the 2009 blue was a Euro colour not available in the UK,

anyway long story short, then got passed to someone who says yea thats just Yamaha Blue

mine is a 2009/10 it is labelled   5P5H-040-C under the seat, hope this helps

That is rather lovely. One of my favourite colours too - suits the bike really well.  How many miles has that done? Not many I'd guess.
