[Matlock]

Got up in the dark this morning and left at dawn, I was in the Lake District National Park by 8:30 - before most of the tourists. Did the Kirkstone, Hardknot & Wrynose passes and ended up on the coast near Sellafield. Seemed to have the A595 pretty much to myself on the way back, which was nice  There weren't that many bikes about today, but saw quite a lot of the new BM GS Adventures though. They seemed to be a bit of a handful over Wrynose  . I thought I'd seen Amarko/Hartside Man on Hardknot when I caught up with a white Tiger 800, but then realised it couldn't be him as I'd caught him up   . Highlight of the trip was approaching a hairpin on Hardknott, looking up and seeing a huge Buzzard flying about 4 feet above me. Cake of the day was the Tiffin at the cafe at Elterwater .

lots of bikes out and about on sunday in the north east , might be a last ride of the season for a lot of them , love the lakes for a bimble , especially going over to buttermere and then heading back over by the slate mine

Ahhhh, nice pics,  brings back memorys' Dit these passes in July,  very nice and tempting route.  The Lake district is a very inviting area to travel trough.

Loved every minute of it!

yes indeed....by far the best time to go and beat the tourists.....cracking route fella....glad you had fun and cake, lots of cake
