And he always takes her for a run.

Aren't the alloy plates between the nut and swingarm meant to be the other way round? i.e. so the chamfered edge is inside and thus avoiding the curve in the corners of the swingarm's U section?

Otherwise the sharp corner edges will take all the pressure of the nut, and tend to bend the plate / make it dig in?

Gave it new oil and filters, done 43k now so it's just about run in. Then gave her a good clean and polish with the good stuff. Brother has his BMW GSA, I have TDM and service it £60 all in. His dealer service quote, they give you a chair to sit on first. Of course, they always say "it's only £££"

While the front end is still in bits and waiting for the re-chromed forks to come back decided to do a partial service and changed the air filter and spark plugs. I thought the 4tx was bad enough to change the plugs but the Niner is in a different league!🤬 I followed the procedure posted elsewhere on this site which helped enormously.👍
Got the oil and filter in the garage and will get them changed once the bike is back on two wheels.

I took mine for a long (306 miles) cross-country run down to Whithorn in Dumfries & Galloway, and ate the sarnies at Isle of Whithorn harbour, in glorious sun.

Noticed that it needs a new rear tyre, when I checked found it had done 12,000 miles so can’t complain!

Which ones did you fit? I've yet to see any I like that fit with std bars, are yours only compatible with the Renthals?

These guards...https://www.ebay.co....tm/255586919478

They are ABS - likely to break easily( )

Handlebars - I tapped them for std bar weights which have been drilled n tapped to accept M8 fixings.

Quick sketch

Attached File  bar end weight.jpg   8.31KB   0 downloads

Brackets supplied with guards do NOT fit. I made some from 19 x 3mm aluminium strip about 100mm long (each) I had in stock.

DRL strips are these type https://www.ebay.co....tm/155011162690

DRLs are coupled to Fixitsan's excellent controller :good:and they cover the yellow band on the front of the guards
