Morning everyone.

Has anyone looked into doing away with the coils on the 900 (or 850) and fitted moern stick coils?

Over the winter I might be tidying up the bike somewhat and it will be much neater with no coil wiring to have to deal with

I saved an old copy of Practical Sportsbikes Magazine where they converted a 90's bike to stick coils. It seemed straightforward, but I can't remember what the advantage was, if any. If I can find the mag, I'll post any relevant info and issue number.

I dont expect any performance gains what so ever.  its not like the standard coils do a substandard job. but the wiring will be much neater, and there will be no clutter on the sides of the bike

Someone posted about them many years ago, seem to remember there was a problem in getting the correct signal voltage to the stick coil using the existing ecu.

850 and 900 engines have different length plug caps, so the advice from the trx 859 forum was useless to me :)
