Went to do weekly start-up and check today. Slight smell of fuel. Took side panels off. No signs anywhere. Nothing on floor. Seems most noticeable from back of tank under seat, but still not strong. Tank is full for winter lay-up. Is this just out of breather pipe?
Where does breather come out? Is it the tube just in front of side-stand switch with a scrw-in plug?
Thanks again.
PS Remind me how to subscribe. I've had plenty of help from here and really must make a contribution!!!

I can't remember where the breather pipe routes, other than it ends somewhere near the ground.  Any fuel on the floor ?

I'm assuming you have the electric fuel pump and no fuel tap ?

Might be worth checking the fuel pipe connections on the tank perhaps ?  There's also a fuel tap there, which could be leaking.

Mine smells a bit of fuel when brimmed, probably just a bit of vapour from breather if no sign of leaks, a temperature or air pressure change could be the reason.

breather goes down the back of the tank, behind the engine between the swingarm
Mine's brimmed and can't smell anything

My 99 4tx always smelt of petrol, It was kept indoors and definitely wasnt leaking anywhere.  I'm sure a full rebuild might have sorted things but It didn't come about in the end.
