I picked up my latest toy the other week - a 1967 Yamaha TD1C 250. I raced this bike nearly 30 years ago and delighted to be reunited with it. Looking forward to getting back on track soon, parade events this year and maybe the occasional classic race next year.

Donington Park in August is a possibility http://www.donington...al/10058/#event

Nice one Alan - should bring back the memories.

A pal of mine recently acquired this sorry looking TD1 which has been languishing in his friends garden for god knows how long. His friend used to race but his advancing years mean his biking days are behind him now so he has given it to my pal. His best result was 5th in the '65 MGP

Not sure if it's salvageable but if it is I'm sure it's worth doing....

I'll have the seat please  ;)  These bikes are getting scarce - a totally original TD1C was on auction in Japan for £16k

Yep, Ray it was.

He said he wasn't sure if this was the actual bike he rode that day as he had a few, but it could well have been

Is it goin back to your racing livery?

It ran in a plain white livery back then. The bike was owned by a true racing enthusiast, Ron Todd, who put a few riders on his bikes over the years and wanted no more than see his bikes out there doing well both on circuits and the Isle of Man. He changed his livery to blue and white in the 90s on both the Yam and a Matchless G50. Ron died last year and his family honoured an agreement Ron and I had made that I could have first refusal on the Yamaha if he ever sold it so I'm keeping the Ron Todd livery in his memory.

Here's one of the few pics in colour  ;) , most of them are in sepia...........1989 Bob McIntyre Memorial meeting which we won with 4 wins out of 6 over the weekend.  :groucho:

Alan there's a classic race meeting at Croft on July 8th-9th for a warm up! I attended this last year in May and it was a cracking day out :good: with a few european bikes there as a "European open race" was created, the weather was kind and sunny all day and the bikes tyres showed this as well  I stood with my mouth open for the first couple of races, and thought? FFS should someone not tell them their classic bikes and should be shown some respect  :D

I was at Croft's classic event last May helping a friend with his restored Bultaco TSS 200 - the bike had lain in his shed for 35 years! It was a great event - as you say, so many expensive classic bikes going for it on 2 and 3 wheels. Unfortunately I'll be on holiday in July but planning a parade session at the Bob Mac at East fortune in June  :)

Nice and increasingly rare motorcycle, enjoy it. Personally, I never understood bends.

Both days were equally good - interesting track, good variety of corners (that's the bendy bits Quartermaster) and good viewing points
