That's tidy Harris, TZ350?

Yellow plates - must be a 500  :badgerrock:

PS, is that Dean Want's TZ (99) in the background?

Mr Warhol & Mr B, who's Dean Want ? (99)

It's a very small world and the phone book does not contain many "Want's", it's also my surname, do I have a member of the racing fraternity in the family ?

Dean Want from Loughborough is an ex racer who is one of THE authorities on Yamaha TZs. He finds famous Yamahas and restores them back to former glory. He loaned me his TZ250A (with "E" back end) for a "Parade Day" at Mallory Park Festival of 1000 Bikes in 2013 which gave me the bug to look for a race bike for myself. I'm certain the TZ #99 in the background is his bike

Dean and me post parade, any family resemblance to the reprobate on the left GDogg??

PS That is Dean Wan't TZ in the background - and the blue back end of a bike next to it is the restored TZ350 of ex GP racer Donnie McLeod, with Donnie's son Euan pushing the starter roller to the back of it - small world GDogg and chrisbee!

Dandy, and respondents with other Yammies, very nice indeed.

I've given this YDS3 to my son Kevin, it's not trick at all, but looks it! One of these days he'll retire from the Army and trick it out; if I'm still viable, we'll have a dash at a nearby track day with my older so, and perhaps even our youngest boy...

I bought it as a rolling chassis, found an engine under a neighbor's house, and modified a windcreen from some tupperware bike. Flipped the stock footpegs over and back to the pillion mount position, fiddled with the linkage and voila! Had to buy a basket case RD350 just to get the expansion chambers; still, it was only $150 and I sold the rest for $100.

The tank is nice - is it a YDS5 engine?

YDS3 (250) I believe.

Been a hundred years since I looked at that engine...

Wow, that'll be a1964 motor - even older than my TD1C! The TD1 motor was loosley based on the YDS5 which superseded the YDS3. Chrome bores, close 'box etc.
