Just wondering if anyone knows the answer off the top of their heads, as I can't seem to find it by doing a search either here, or JBX's site.

If anyone has an aftermarket shock with the spring numbers are identifyable, could you share the data please :)

EDIT, I think I've found that the standard rate is 130N/mm

Try https://racetech.com...aha/TDM900/2003

The entry for the standard OE spring is not quoted but there is a calculator near the bottom in the rear suspension section where you can specify a range of parameters to come up with a rate.

Maybe another shock supplier would have the straight answer.

Ooooops

Just tried that myself and find there is no answer for the rear spring. It mentions something missing. However it gives a front spring recommendation, but still no Stock value.

Good luck with the purchase.

Coincidentally I found the same calculator, and when it didn't work I thought I would post here.

In the end I used the dubious, but not to risky method of looking at a couple of shock suppliers and seeing which spring they specify. YSS vendors are particularly good because they often list the spring type number which will be fitted, and from that the rate can be found.

From the example of a YSS shock for the TDM 900, itcomes fitted with a spring 56-130-185. (Diameter, spring rate (N/mm), and free length in mm), so I've picked the nearest Ohlins, slightly higher rate at 140N/mm , and shorter by 5mm. (I found similar data from another manufacturer online, I think it was Hagon)

Rolling the dice a bit !
