Been talking about this at work today, as kid i always wanted one of 3 bikes, GPZ900R, ZZR1100 or a GPZ100RX. Dont know why but i still love theses bikes, spouse it's from a time where super bikes where being born, and they all have there own charms. Also they seem to last for ever!! GPZ 900 115bhp good for 150mph still dam fast by todays standards.

Took a ZZR1100 for a test ride and found it not like i would of thought it to be, One of thos 'should not meet you hero' things. Anyone else got a bike they always loved/wanted? or have you brought one you always wanted and regretted it?

2 "fun" bikes :
Ducati Monstro 900 before they tamed it or a supermotard
and perhaps an oldtimer... i mean ancient ... like Matchless, Sarolia, BSA ...
I'm an insomniac agnostic dyslexic. I lay awake at night and wonder if there really is a dog.

HD FatBoy - used to dream 'bout one when I was a kid - liked the simplicity of its design
Vintage - an old WWII Zundapp complete with a sidecar and an MG mount - found one 'bout 10 years ago in the barn of some old man in the montains of Transylvania - the fecker had a bullet hole in the gas tank!! totally restorable, the old fecker sold it to some german bloke fer peanuts
Now - some big naked fecker of a beast like the K1200R or the Z1000 or the Augusta Brutale (there's one of the latter ones 3 minutes walk from where i live, in the window of the dealership - what a monster!)

Noroc!

A Raleigh Burner with yellow mag wheels rotflmmfao.gif blink.gif

I had a book when I was younger; It was called "Superbikes Of The 70s". They had a test on a Honda CB750 and I was always saying to my dad "One day I will have one of these..."

Would still like one rolleyes.gif

If he could see my TDM now he would be shocked how bikes have changed over the years.
Who on earth made me get a ZX9R???? I'll get 'em....

I'm a bit younger than you lot and FZR1000genesis, or an 0W01 would be my bike I'd like to have coz that's what was coolest when I was on a cg125, a mate of mine still runs a tidy enough genesis thou, and it's still lovely to ride.

Suzuki Katana GS1000 for me. I know I'd be disappointed if I rode it but I just love the styling, the wierd clocks, the whole thing, brilliant. Sadly I'd also like a Norton rotary, the F1 would be nice. wub.gif

So you want to bounce down a motorway on your ass at 110mph then? Cos that's what's gonna happen when the high speed tankslapper kicks in!

Bike I always wanted? Original Z1.....I was at the Earls Court show in 1972 when it was unveiled!

A Britten V1000. There's only 10 in the world so not much chance ever seeing one never mind owning one. Or a RC30. Used to have a NC30 and always fancied it's big brother.

Tank Slapper!! Never. I was around 14 and still remember the big guy coming up the road, The sound was skin tingling. I even bought a GT380 some 15 yrs ago as I could not afford the Kettle. God I want one. Not to go down the M3, just to go round the block to hear that burble.

Who mentioned Z1? Choice!!

Ah yes, the Z1. I was £200 short of buying one in 1977. It was "The Daddy" of the day. Unfinished business.

Tank slappers?!.....Nah. Not the best handling right enough but never dangerous.

CX 650 Eurosport, YPVS 500, CBX 250RS (circa 1989), CB250 (1993 model), Morini Kangarou 350, Suzuki GT 380, but i'd really still loike an 88 or 89 VFR750 in navy blue or black.

spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

I loike tay and hang sangwiches !

Guys....the reason I said about 110mph tankslappers on a GT750 was that it happened to me.
February 1978 (the last occasion I hit the deck on the road)...coming home from work Saturday afternoon on a motorway, hit 110 and it went ballistic! Bars going from side to side out of control, threw me off and I bounced 200 yards.
Got up from it....for a few secs....then collapsed in pain. a coach stopped which had a nurse on board, ambulance and cops called, and off I went to hospital.
Got my clothes cut off me by a mincing poof male nurse (that was the worst bit), X-rayed, cleaned up, and sent home with nothing broken.
People say to me..."you're mad to ride in jeans".....well I always have, and I speak from experience when I say they're tougher than people give them credit for.
GT750? I owned two and this was the second one....first one was OK, second one was lethal.
