Carpe's answer to the Venerable Bede?
Or maybe the Stupendous Bod - everyman's ideal pillion?

Oh well, seems that one can "offend" but not be "offended" these days!

However, it would have been nice to have had the chance to reply to their (I assume) criticsm.

Its not as if I called them shirt lifters, poofters, shit stabbers or the like, but I think if you'd seen how these two were behaving, in public remember, anyone "normal" (meaning heterosexual) would have been "uncomfortable".

Never mind eh.

Perhaps those who were having a go whilst i was away have got something to hide????? and no, I'm not casting asperstions (sp?).

I don't know, never likely to know either. I was just passing on an interesting observation that I'd seen that afternoon.

Nice weather we're having tonight, eh........

Moi?, battle?, perish the thought.

Lifes too short to get into a battle of words on the internet, found that out before. Lets face it, we come to these places to get away from the hassles and stresses of our "off-line" lives, to chill out, relax and have a bit of banter.

Friend of mine, known as Punchy or Roy depending on what hat he is wearing, likened these forums to a house, the techy stuff is out in the garage, and after the techy stuff is finished with, we retire to the lounge (here) and kick back and have a coffee or beer with your mates. And with any group of mates, you'll never have everyone agreeing with everything everyone says, so discussions develop. Called life I think.

So, don't need the hassle off-line, sure as hell ain't going to start it on-line.

I presume that one of the Mods was approached with a complaint, and the mod deleted it.

I don't know who Mods the Hyde Park, perhaps a simple explanation as to why would calm the waters a bit?

What we don't want is a session/discussion/arguments of "bloody over moderation" kicking off, cos that serves no purpose whatsoever.

Stormy's thread merely related what he'd seen when he was out on a ride. He thought it was inappropriate for homosexuals to do their stuff next to a kiddies's playground. And that's fair comment.
Then later on somebody jumped in with namecalling, and another person agreed.
I replied backing Stormy's stance saying I thought their behaviour was inappropriate in that particular place in broad daylight, and questioned why these people need to flaunt their lifestyle with gay parades and ludicrously camp behaviour. After all, the heterosexual community doesn't feel the need to have heterosexual bike clubs, heterosexual marches, and strut around in a macho manner dressed like Arnold in The Terminator.
Then it got nuked. The only thing that was offensive was directed to Stormy.....and he didn't complain.
The sad part about all this is that it's a situation caused by the imbalances and political correctness in today's society crossing over into an environment like this forum.
The mods are between a rock and a hard place, they have to be seen to do something or these various minority factions start yelling injustice, racism, homophobia in every situation where things don't go their way.
Thank God I got out of Britain and moved to rural inland Spain where traditional values still exist.
