Has anyone ever got the engine control module flashed on their 900. Mine is 2007 and can't get my hands on a power commander so thinking of getting it flashed instead. Also where would you recommend to get it done, some places you can post them the ECU and they do it and post back. Any advice?

I got an email back from them, apparently my ECU is a rare part no. And he hasn't flashed one before. Has anyone with the following ECU got it done:

Yea the one that ends in 01 is the common one, mine ends in 20 which isn't too common so need to find someone that can do that one.

I haven't seen many '-01' ones, lots of 02's and 10's though.

If you don't have ABS or an immobiliser I think they early 01 ECU would work

Mine has abs and an immobiliser, is the ECU coded to the immobiliser? Does getting a flash affect that?

The immobiliser has a separate box, coded to the ECU (from what I'm told)....is there a key trasponder too ? I'm Not sure.

The ECU can be flashed only in the area of the memory where the maps are stored, the immo code is in a different part of memory and won't be changed by rewriting of the maps

Thanks, that's what I thought. Would you recommend a flash over a power commander?

The 64 gazillion £ question....

Never had a PC but I can imagine it's good points.....but you're still stuck with the standard ignition timing map. An ECU remap let's the tuner open up the benefits of being able to adjust the timing too

No, I had a Powercommander on my previous bike that I swapped over and had remapped, it runs really well now, but so does my previous one without the pc! I may try going back to standard exhausts at some point to see what that does, I rode AliG’s two Tdm’s at the weekend, a 2004 (my old one) and a 2010, both run perfectly with a standard setup.

surely it wouldn't start as the Immobiliser and Fixitsans ECU were not compatible,  what ye think?

I think you’re right, but I didn’t want to get in to removing the immobiliser.....if that’s even possible

i gotta admit i too would be worried it may be 'tamper proof' and lock out if messed with. I reckon they could be made to communicate and work properly but it's more money and a risk!

Anyone ever heard of these? Just came across them. Look similar to a power commander.
