Murray-Sunset National Park, Australia     (August 2013)    thumb.gif

Murray-Sunset is the second largest national park at 633,000 hectares in the state of Victoria, Australia.

The park was created in 1991 and was the site of a major salt industry from 1916 to 1975. At its peak, ten thousand tons of salt was harvested.

A defunct railway, the Nowingi line, terminates at the remains of a gypsum mine hopper on the Raak Plain. Other relics include Mopoke Hut, built as grazier accommodation in the 1960s.

Warning! Tracks in the park contain areas of deep sand with wide wheel ruts.

Big deal, so what, we are Adventure Riders ?    webers.gif
