The perils of textspeke…..would that we all communicated in King's English or Latin....or even better ,Classical Greek !   There would be no mistaking meanings then !!

Mind you I don't know the Greek for carburettor…..?

Thanks for all helpful comments.
I will go down the line of cleaning the area and down pipes in situ.
Hopefully it won't get worse.

I think that is a very wise decision. One thing you could do is regularly clean the studs and nuts as best you can and apply something like ACF50 ( or penetrating oil, what do you think is best ? ) which may help you get the nuts off and studs out if you have to in the future.
