My oxford heated grips, fitted for about 9 trouble free years, suddenly, (during Irish monsoon last year) went onto full heat, even when switched off at the controller. So pulled fuse. Left them off for the summer, and when I replaced the fuse in Nov, all was well.....untill yesterday when they went on burny mode again. (This time no rain).
Is this likely to be a controller problem, sorted by an up to date replacement, or scrap and start again?? Discuss.

If the grips still get hot then they're working fine, just need a new controller

Right....another question please. I've received the new controller, the updated V8 version. The wiring is very different to the old item. Am I correct in Assuming that the new item replaces both the control box and heat controller of the old set?g

Surprisingly, fitting the new lead between the battery and the controller (Let's call it a power lead that's new) appears to have done the trick. Thanks Cliff.
