Ive just found Lower fairings for the tdm850 from skidmarx, does anyone know if they provide any useful advantage ie keeping boots a little drier in the wet or are they purely cosmetic?
Thanks in advance for any advice,

Mine had a lower Fairing on when I bought it

Never noticed a difference in keeping boots drier etc

Mainly cosmetic in my opinion
I've since removed it and put Engine bars on
I personally like both
Although engine bars do have there uses

This might give you an idea of what your bike will look likeAttached File  20161205_132805_resized_1_2.jpg   142.17KB   2 downloads
If you do go ahead I suggest some crash bungs as well

Might put this back on in the spring

I do like the Lower failings on the Bike just remember it adds
More time to Oil changes etc + The Oil sight glass then sits in a nice little Dark spot - keep a torch handy to help check Oil level

The Bike on it's side photo shows how useful engine bars can be ,( especially when you meet Maureen's )
Even with Crash bungs on I think the fairing lowers would have been smashed

No Injuries

I had lower fairings on my 9'er, but removed them.

It is just a pain in the a** to keep the engine clean when you have to take off the fairing  :puke:

Thanks for your help on this, think I might go for engine bars instead, then running lights and then oh I need to calm down,

I bought lower fairings for my niner..looked good but directed hot air from the engine onto my legs, not a good idea in a hot Aussie summer. went back to my crash bars, fairings sitting in my garage not being used.
