He he! Already bolted last summer to a Super Tenere! No Super Ten bought back then I'd deffo of sold out to this Tracer. Other than these 2 Yams I'd still be smiling on my 9er now...

Congrats Quatermaster.
I like the tracer as well, but I'm afraid, it is the wrong bike for me. I ride two up a lot and max load is a little low, since I'm rather heavy. Possibly the rear pegs are too close to the driver pegs for me. But I'll definitely will check out a tracer, and have a seat.
Lots of fun with the new bike

Saw some at CMC Clay Cross on Saturday - the dark grey one looks the dogs danglies -
not so sure about the high screen though, dead flimsy - and with the way it's mounted I can see plenty of warranty claims !
The older I get, the better I was96 MkII in yellow & silver with bluespots, braided lines, Remus 2 into 1, Hagon rear shock & fork springs, bashplate, heated grips,Motech pannier racks, Road Attacks, Jockoiler, Baglux tank cover & bag. Gone to a far better place - hasn't it Remo?
Another 96 Mk2 in yellow & silver - absolutely standard & pristine ( apart from a butchered rear mudguard - but I'm looking for a new one

Will the tracers be around for 13 years ? I think not.
Come back in five years time and see what the problems have been. Will the engine do 100k for example ?
Until then, I'll stick with tried and tested.

Well done, QM. Let us know how she goes.
I ordered a red one which appparently is the most popular colour. Delivery is quoted as first week in April and apparently sales are excellent. Might even bring some more ex-sports bike riders to appreciate our concept of a practical, comfortable, nimble, mile-devouring icon. Perhaps we should open the Carpe doors to them?
For what its worth (I know you guys are always interested in values) I contacted three local Yamaha dealers and the best offer for my '08 900 with 36,000 miles showing in standard form with just panniers and a Scottoiler was £3,000.

our concept of a practical, comfortable, nimble, mile-devouring icon.
My concept of comfortable and mile-devouring is most certainly not a Tracer. I rode one for an hour and was glad to get off it. The seat is like a plank, the rear suspension transmitted every bit of road imperfection straight to my backside, bumps and potholes jarred my spine and the combination of the cut out screen and the hand-guards served to direct the wind blast onto my arms, shoulders and neck so I was feeling quite cold at the end of the ride. The engine is brilliant but has all the aural charm of a swarm of wasps. It's certainly nimble and if you like a bike to give a playful shake of its head every time you flick it out of a roundabout this is the one for you.
Getting back on the TDM was like sinking into a favourite armchair and playing some Bruce Springsteen with the bass turned up.

I have a TDM900A -07 and a MT07A -14 and I had a MT09A -14 for a while.
What makes me not considering the Tracer is:
- Only 137/130 mm suspension travel, I would have liked 160 mm.
- Want a 19" front and PR4 tires.
- 20 L tank instead of 18 L.
- Weight on par with TDM900, would be nice to drop 5 kg.
- Riders triangle too cramped for my 194 cm statue.
- No slipper clutch or quick shifter.
- Price is over the top for what you get, 10% down and it would be competitive.
Positive:
- It's a Yamaha, excellent engine, traction control, new dash, ok suspension besides travel, ok seats. But I pass.

if you are looking for 160mm suspension, 19'' wheel, slipper clutch, quick shifter, gyros etc, why are you riding a TDM. Mine certainly hasn't got any of that. There are some brand new TDMs still in shops for not far less money than a Tracer with far less technology and equipment as standard. And generally the Tracer is considered a bargain in todays market. Try to get a BMW with that sort of gear! Or get a slipper clutch in a Ducati. It will set you back a bit more than a 10% mark up. The whole idea here is to make a great bike affordable. They are suppose to sell in numbers.
On the other hand, the seat, pegs, hand guards are wrong! The optic is a matter of personal taste. The TDM has certainly split opinions over her life span. I don't mind, but not love, the visual of the Tracer, apart from the guards, but I also find it bitty and bolted together. But that is what you get these days. Modern times.

I was just inches away from getting a -14 demo 1190 Adventure some weeks ago, but backed out since KTM was unwilling to swap the starter for the new -15 spec SM13 that actually works. The KTM is packed with goodies (electronic suspension, lean sensing ABS, TC, slipper clutch etc.), 150 ponies, decent travel sus, excellent dash, comfy (but hot) seat, 19" front, 23 L tank.
My price was 121900 SEK, the Tracer is listed at 93900 SEK. That's only 28000 SEK (=GBP 2150) difference. Think the Tracer is expensive.
So I'm keeping the TDM for another year or two. Front sus is already 150 mm, rear is only 133 mm but I have asked nitron for a 147 mm travel R2 rear shock and it wasn't a problem. And I'm considering a slipper clutch.
I'm not saying that I must have all the electronics, but if Yamaha wouldn't so conservative in adding modern technologies to their new bikes, they would have been able to sell even more at even higher prices (good and bad of course).

Sorry for that, couldn't get that damned Avatar-crop tool to work properly so this is the way it came out. Revision of Avatar is on the to-do list.
