Not specifically them, but I have an agm type battery on another bike . It's a few years old and it holds its charge very well between infrequent runs.

If you go this route just check your battery charger is suitable for agm technology.

cheers

AGM battery is the way to go, many good starts and it holds the charge well over a period of time.

Wife had one on her car. 5 years old and dead as a dodo. Gone back to good old lead acid. I didn't find the weight all that different either, thought it would be greater given the two technologies.

.AGM is the correct battery for the niner, as the one Favs linked to. Yuasa YT series are AGM batteries. AGM means absorbent glass mat. They are still lead acid, they use the same lead and the same acid. The main difference between AGm and wet cells is that the acid is bound in a glass mat and isn't free to slop around like in a wet cell

If you fit a conventional wet cell to the niner you will find that the acid doesn't completely cover the plates, and your boots might rot when the acid spills out of the overflow when riding around corners ! The niner battery has to lay on it's side !

GS the same as yuasa? I notice the place in Swindonia has both these names written on side... Used to just say yuasa.

9'er battery on it's side?

yes its right under the seat and to save space they had to lay it on its side.
There's 2 types which seem right, one is an extra capacity version and has almost the same part number and despite being only slightly larger is too tight a fit. Stick with the recommended agm one.....
