Hi all , im off to france at the weekend , not been over there for years  , as far as fuel goes can we use the 95ron that has ethenol in it for a 900 or is it best to use the 98 super unleaded ?  I have also been told its not as easy going for bikers as it used to be ? Any tips or experiences .

TDMs burn all the varieties of petrol you'll find & no need to worry about marine animals. :good:

Take a card for fuel. Paying cash can be difficult sometimes.Cash passport debit card bought in and pre loaded with euros a good bet. It'll need a good balance on it. The pump will take 100 euros for a couple of days each time you fill up until the correct amount is paid and the remainder goes back on the card. It works fine but when tramping long distance I've filled 3 times in a day meaning 300 euros temporarily goes AWOL...hth.

Don't wear a SKY Team cycling vest. :P

Watch the speed limits on rural roads they have recently changed, even though the signage might not have.

Credit cards work well for fuel in France. Halifax clarity gives you best exchange rate, and works in machines if the service station is card only.

Look out for villages with a yellow diamond shape sign as you enter.......this means the 'old' French system of 'Priority from the right' applies. So anyone coming out from a road to your right has priority........scary if you aren't ready for it.

Like Studley says, watch out for speed limits, especially on Saturdays for some reason.

endgiveway.gif?w=605This is what to be aware of...

That may be true and only makes it more shocking that they still don't know how to negotiate them....
I forgive them though. Great country and lovely people.

Aye, and this is well worth watching out for....  more common than you would think in smaller towns, so keep your eyes open !

Actually a very sensible way of keeping drivers on their toes, just a pity it can lead to fatalities for motards who get it wrong.

Ah weel, die young and leave a good looking corpse.....
