Difficult to imagine a worse hangover than the one you had on German beer rotflmmfao.gif

Well I made it back (Sunday night actually)

It has been a bit of a trip, about 3600 odd miles

A quick summary until I get my pictures sorted :

Many , many fuel stops, never wanted to even get close to running out of petrol
About 3 liters of oil consumed.
Camped about a 1/3 of the time, hotels/hostels the remainder

Worst day (other than the first night in Belgium with the missing keys and the dead bike) was going across form Slovakia over the Tartus mountains into Poland. I had high hopes for this (no pun indented) but the rain just didn't stop all the way to Krakow. I got one look at snow covered mountain peaks before the clouds descended . Leaking boots, wet through, bad roads, crazy driving, cobblestones and tram lines. In the end found a hotel in the town center with secure parking and sod the cost, some of the other gets gave me a bit of a funny look as a dripped water all over the reception area. I'd already had to buy new gloves as my old ones just couldn't handle it, need to get new boots as well now.

Best day on my own was I suppose was in Czech when I spent a half day walking through the Teplice rocks formations and then found a very quiet back round just across and along the Polish border. Masserberg was really good, real sad that Moose couldn't make it, and a greater shame the reason why, hope your boy is on the mend . Next year mate ! We should have borrowed your T-shirt and set a place for it at the table. All the same we managed to clear up the bacon everyday.

Other problem was the charger plug for the Satnav vibrating apart. Satnav was brilliant, only took me the wrong way once.

On the way back I meet up with my German housemate In Berlin who was on a cycling holiday going the opposite direction. Spent a couple of days being shown the sights by push bike, and got a chance to ride a horse.

Rough route :

Namur (Belgium Beer !)
Mainz
Masseberg
Terezin
Teplice
Olomouc
Trencin
Zilina
Spskke Podhrdie
Krakow
Wroclaw
Dresden
Berlin
Gent

Well done Kaustic. clapping.gif
I remember you saying you were off for a long haul could remember when being so tied up in our own trip.
Me and the misses didn't have any better weather over there either. Got drenched several times but still some good times were had. Didn't do the miles you did either. Looking forward to the pics.
