Thanks for some good advice off Leehenty, I bought some balls and am doing the 24,000 service.
JBX calculator shows only one exhaust shim needed replacing as it is 0.21 but the ones next to it are 0.23 , a 0.22 gap is the lower limit and 0.28 is the upper.
I have read that this nearly always close up, so as the others are on the limit, do I replace them at the same time
The feeler gauge readings are 0.21 0.23 0.23 0.23
Got the shims out and the are 189, 191, 190, 191
I need a 185 to replace the 189 which would give a reading of 0.25 which is bob on mid range.
but the others if I change would be
with these new shims 185, 190, 189, 190
The feeler gauge readings are 0.25 0.24 0.24 (no t0.25) 0.24
That would mean I only need two replacement shims.
Sorry I have answered my own dilemma.
Can some one check the logic there, then I need to ask Dappers a favour...
Cheers, Ivan
