Thats impressive, do you have enough time before they empty? (Ive never done this before btw) Will be doing it Sat
literally your turning one screw to match up the dial needles. Rev a few times to ensure it settled and that's it.
how long would you think it would take?

The first time I always do anything, I like to take extra time to make sure I've done it right, and like I say, I've not done this before! I'm sure it will be a breeze!
do your homework and find the adjusting screw first. that's the hardest part
Haaa takes me about 30mins!! A bit like wheel balancing I get mesmerised. Am lucky if it's done before the TANK runs oot of fuel. :0)
Ha Ha, what yer loike

Remember to let the gauges settle without the screwdriver against the screw or you can easily throw it out by slight pressure if you hold the screwdriver in place.

I got so fed up with faffing about getting the tank off to gain access to the carbs that I put in a pair of fuel cut-off taps underneath the tank. I'd previously replaced the original fuel hoses with thick walled bulletproof piping which didn't help wrestling the fuel tap out. Now I just lift the rear of the tank, close the taps and disconnect the hoses there. Then I connect a remote fuel tank, gauges etc, make a cup of tea and footer away to my hearts content with no obstructions.

For carby fiddling I use an Italian set of special tools with bevel boxes to go round corners. Somehow them clever Italians made them with next to no backlash in gears.
That'd be perfect for my Honda Dominator, everything is in the way.

Curly have you had to raise the tank at the bolt on ?
Edit... you know i fitted fuel line plastic seperators in the same place but i found they became quite fragile after a few months, keep an eye on them.

No, the tank's in position, just not fitted the bolt.
And yes, I remember the topic about the separators. That's why I didn't fit them. These fuel taps cost almost nothing and can be visually checked easily enough. But the thinking was, if the only time they'll ever be operated is when I lift the tank and if the plastic doesn't disintegrate they should last long enough.
Of course, I do carry a pair of short made-up Kunifer jointing tubes if there is a leak while I'm riding......
