My old beast ('91 3VD) has done 152 000 miles - approx 250 000 kms and still going strong
Anyone clocked up more & what issues might be coming my way?

Good to see you're still a TDM owner. & thanks again for your early input for my TDM's development.
Got to consider the "economies" hey?, now that you seem to be a settled "family man" ?
Although not riding mine every day, my kms are clocking up reasonably fast.
Being a "2nd hand" gem, I am not that confident of it's heritage as I bought it with only 3,600kms on the clock for a 13 year old bike ?.
Tyre model/age/wear didn't match age of bike nor did the brake disk wear either ? so I've now currently got a 34k bike or a 134k bike or something in between.
Anyway I am still over the moon with it's ability for riding pleasure in most conditions & coincidentally since I've been plastering my "adventures" on the net, Yamaha Australia is the first to start releasing "Adventure modified TDMs".
All I've done so far is a precautionary valve clearance check @ 25k with no adjustments required.
Waiting for your next "adventure"
I'm off with some "dirt bike world" (ie smaller bikes) riders to the Flinders Ranges early April & will post a report in due course if I can keep up with them
Cheers

I doubt many have clocked up more than that mate I would imagine the issues ahead would be the same ones coming back round again
Although seriously, I would recommend keeping an eye on your rear shock as quite a few of us have had them snap by the lower mount.

I've got a white power shock in the back - replaced it for the big trip & yeah the top mount gave up - mich stronger now though. Also blew its seals going into Sydney - rather there than India...
Mbrewer - love all the photos of your rides on Advrider. Very jealous, loved the outback riding in Oz.
Plenty of good options here in NZ too - have been going for occasional rides with a mate on a KTM 950 adventure & manage to keep him honest - at least until we get into the sand...
Enjoyed following your trip too Athula - how how did you find returning to home & 'normality'? Thats the hardest destination I reckon

First owner did 34000 miles in Yorkshire where the local pretend that roads are perfectly maintained (good for the shocks) and there is no traffic (good for brakes). Therefore I have to make apologies to my bike for riding in Surrey and on the coast where each mile must count double
Fender extension; Right miror extension; Tutoro oiler; Frank Thomas leather Bullit Retro Jacket with Knox back protector for normal time and textile jacket with forcefield 4 for long trips, monolock plate with E45 GIVI top case, Michelin PR2

I bought my '07 TDM900 last month with 900 miles on it. Has anyone averaged only 300 miles a year or less on theirs? Or do I get the award for the least used TDM?
