Was just having a chin wag with me local (ish) battery shop and they informed me of the new regulation regarding battery purchase.

Had a quick Google and

https://www.yuasa.co...es-can-be-sold/

So for my local(ish) battery shop this means I need to go in and pay for battery...... Then they can fill and charge the battery (3-4 hours) then I can collect the battery lolzio. Local (ish) is 15 miles so that don't really work do it.

You can get a licence for about £40 if you go through a lot of batteries :D

I could understand them not selling the acid pack individually but that just hinders honest people as usual.  If someone wants the acid, nothing stops them then drilling a small hole in the casing and draining it off.

Just get a lithium instead ;)

Joe public suffers as usual ...knobheads drill a battery as nog said....Fowlers etc will no longer post out dry batteries with an acid pack. 20 years minimum sentence might halt the popularity....

It's usually the police who enforce the law regarding assault and battery crimes. :P

Today I went to me friendly battery shop to initiate the long drawn out process of battery purchase.

Selected me yuasa for Dave.... Was just about to pay when the guy said "of course you can avoid the wait by buying the motobat which is prefilled and charged"! So that were a bit easier. Not quite the same CCA or ampy hours but it'll do.

It seems this new law is inconveniencing the battery shops but being completely ignored by eBay and Amazon.

I went to my local council recycling centre, there is a battery collection point, with lead acid batteries piled up. Plenty of acid there if required !
