G'day Guys from Oz good.gif

Well, seems the real cost of coming home from one of my "Oz adventures" with a broken leg is to treat my lovely UK born Mrs B wub.gif to a "White English/Scottish Christmas".

While air fares are so low at the moment, here we come for a month, say from around (+ or -) 20th December this year.

Where we're at :- We have a friend in Little Aston, Mrs B has a cousin in The Lakes District & I have an expat Aussie/Pom living in Edinvillie, Aberlour, Scotland and we love driving long distances enjoying the country side. banana.gif

Will probably arrive via Heathrow & hire a nice warm car. That's as far as we've got so far. dunno.gif At least that's a start. tongue.gif

Would love & appreciate the opportunity to catch up/stay with locals along the way as much as possible angel.gif ...... one night here, a couple a nights there, sharing our experiences of being colonial folk and then off we go on the next leg doubtfull.gif Willingly contributing along the way.

Ideas and offers greatly appreciated, please pm

Give us a shout if you make it up towards Edinburgh. Can't promise much biking that time of year but you're welcome to stay in the spare room. I might be away at new year for a few days but otherwise should be here. Edinburgh's worth a visit IMHO.

I'm currently researching info of hire cars with the hottest heaters ambusy.gif, but SWMBO loves the cold huh.gif

My wife also loves watching English TV programs and is now paying closer attention to their locations ie "Rebus". But personally, I don't think it's worth going to Midsomer though, there'll be no one left by the time we got there rotflmmfao.gif

Last time we were over in 2003, we based ourselves in Little Aston/Birmingham & covered that area with an additional week travelling SW to Cornwall.

So this time will hope to stay there initially again and then head north or maybe not, Wales sounds an interesting detour. Still early days, so many places so little time

Thanks again though. wub.gif

Masterbrewer if your plans change and you find yourself in the south of England (Southampton to be precise) you would be very welcome to stay with Francoise and I (for a couple of tinnies per night). We might even manage a bottle of the amber necter to help you tell me all you know about off-road mods/tyres for the TDM.

good.gif

Our travel plans are slowing coming together.

Arrive Heathrow Sunday 13th December 6am, after non stop flight from Adelaide, South Australia, collect car then head west towards Windsor for jetlag adjustment.

As we missed Windsor Castle last time we were over, we hope to spend a day around Windsor before heading for a tour of Bath the next day, then onto Hereford until the 21st and then north to Edinvillie Scotland, returning south down the east coast after 2nd January.

Would love to catch up for a piece of cake or beer with some of "the locals" on say Sunday 13th while Mrs B sleeps, if anyone is interested.

Appreciate it if anyone can recommend any B & B's in Windsor?

Thanks
