I've been asking myself some serious questions lately,

Why now ?

This is it !

Whats next? doubtfull.gif

Then the other day after visiting the father-in-law in his nursing home, ( bit of smell in there ! )

I suddenly thought, I will be like this in 30 odd years time, I will be 70 in less than 25yrs time !!!!!!!! Retired in 19yrs !!!!!!

Bloody hell my life is nearly over ....... shocked.gif

Then a "panic feeling" like I better hurry up and do stuff before its to late ....... help.gif

Is this normal or am I being a typical 900 rider ?

Doctor Dappers' diagnosis is incorrect - this is definitely a mid-life crisis Ivan and affects all men at 'a certain age', regardless of their chosen steed. I recommend quitting your job tomorrow and touring the world on your niner.

P.S. Doctor Matlock is not responsible for anyone paying attention to anything he says.....

I agree with Prof. Matlock on this. It's perfectly normal to be thinking those thoughts. I look back at the 30+ yrs since I left school and think its all gone past me in a flash and the next 30yrs will also be over in a flash. But, obviously this isn't really true and it's more to do with our perception of time as we grow older.
Put it another way, it's just a number. 70 is just a number it's not the end of living. Go enjoy !

Better come out of the closet and buy that BMW before it's too late and you're too weak to ride it! Just think, for the cost of only 3 900s you could be riding a 2010 R1200GSA. yu.gif

9 years, 9 months and 14 days til I get to 65 - you'll probably be forced to go on to 68 Ivan tongue.gif

For me, it was when parent number 2 popped off - you then realise your own mortality - get on with it and make some more videos before you wish yer life away!

I think I had mine at 42, I spent about 2 months thinking"omg it's downhill now" and all that. It passed.

I think TDMick's signature is probably the best advice that still makes me smile and think "damn right" every time I see it.

I think saying Yes to things that you may consider saying No to, can lead to new experiences you may be denying yourself (of course this is dependant on the situation and may not be a good rule to undertake when drunk as you may end up walking funny and fuel the 9'er rumours more blink.gif )
My life in bikes (with the random oddity) Made it to 48 with no car licence : Yamaha DT50M, Yamaha RD250E, Honda Melody (stupid law changes), Honda NS125F, Yamaha FZ600, Yamaha TDM850 MKI, CZ 125, GSXR1100WP, Aprilia RS250, Yamaha TDM850 MKII, Yamaha YZF750, Honda FT500, Reliant Rialto, Suzuki DR250, Suzuki DR650, Sukida 200, Yamaha Thunderace, Yamaha TDM900 2003, Yamaha TDM850 MKI, Triumph Tiger 1050, Triumph Tiger Explorer

I had a mid life crisis about five years ago.
I got this mad compulsion to buy the car I always wanted.

I'm so glad that I did it though.
I didn't tell Misses OGW until I turned up at the house with it.
It didn't go down too well, it has taken a long time but she loves it too now.
Cheap insurance, no tax.. just lots of other bills.

If you rearrange the letters in "mid life crisis" it spells "shag a young bird". How weird is that

Fer Feck sake!
Gies a break. I've 35 days to go to i reach a certain age and the missus is windin me up every day....and 'cos of this shitty weather i can't get out on the bike. I'm going stir crazy, pacing the house like the caged bear (so she says).

Might just take a day off work next week and get out for a run during the day, no matter what the weather is.

And I must be one of the older ones here as I turned 60 last month. I just get on with life and do as I please. I run about 20 miles a week, bought that RSV Mille last month 'cos I can still ride without wetting myself (so BMW not yet required) still likely to crash the bike when gawping at a comely young lady and realise that I'll never now make all those goals I set out to achieve in my 20s and I really don't care, I'm happy.
