First of, Hello everyone.

Ok thats done.my 4tx makes a noise like a big loose valve, realy big and realy loose, as in loud, its a single tap (got a sharpe crack to it like if your header pipes are loose and blowing, I take it thats a Rod or Big end.

If I need an engine I have a 3vd but I take it I will need the wiring loom and cdi(have loom) will the transplant then work?

Thanks.

You'll have to transplant the oil tank as well.

Good luck

Looking at the two engines I was hoping the 4tx oil tank will bolt on to the 3vd- if not,Oil tank, CDI and Wiring loom and thats it is it?

     Thanks

Throttle position sensor might be an issue. MK I did not have one, so the CDI will not know what to do with it. Perhaps it is sufficient to keep it disconnected.

Gearing is different as well, so you might want to take a look at MK I sprockets. AFAIK the oil tank can be transferred.

Cluch cable is mounted different on the MK I engine, but it's far from impossible to do the swap.

Big end has abount 5mm of up and down play,No1 sat on bike looking forward,I will strip it out over weekend and get a quote on repaire first--big end was trying to pop out the side and was being squashed between crank and rod.

Is it just a case of not checking the oil level (not me guv) or is it a TDM fault?

The ones I have seen have all been due to oil starvation at some point and left hand failures.  The ones I have seen have been user error, loike you say not chicken the oil rather than TDM error.  There are some piccies somewhere ear of what happens when you continue to ride at 80MPH on a boike starved of oil.

Ok, I have taken the plunge and had my crank done at S.E.P and got them to supply me with big ends and a set of rings.

The big ends are marked 3LD-11416-20(3LD I believe is a superten 750, and the rings are 3Vd-11610-00(Mk 1) my bke is a 4TX,I know alot of parts are interchangable 750-- MK1-- MK2 and the other thing, but I cant find any part number site to reference so can any Carp gurus tell me these are correct.

If I have done this right you should see the before shots and the new goodies at the end.

Cancell that they went up vanished now I cant get them on,try again later

Yup, they're correct. :)  If ya need to know more about parts numbers, a quick google (UK only search)  usually shows up the required results.

Test the oil pump before reassembly and clean out all the oil ways in the crank, especially the crank, Peps blame the user for not checking oil level but it could be caused by pump failure or oil blockage

Oilways have been blown through cases as well, oil pump looked at,no scoring etc, on essembley of a new builed I will remove plugs put in top gear and push the bike to prime the oil pipes/drillings, In this case untill it returns to the oil tank, but how would you test a pump?

Try again with the pics bit blured sorry.

And here is the recon jobbie. For those who may be thinking of rebuilding £185 for the recon(only grind what needs grinding and all polished) plus bigend shells,I had one dodgey main so I had a set from them £51.72,set of rings(and why not) £67 all plus VAT £382,and while you can get an engine for less or a complete bike for not much more this was my choice I now have an engine which should last (or maybe it wont)time will tell.

Search "Gallery bolt" that proves the oil pump.
Or fit a pressure switch.
