I wear rubber overshoes (galloshes) on my boots. A very few mm extra, and perhaps a help with paddling with rubber soles. Always toasty feet too.

Nah thanks, that's just one stop short of a mobility scooter
You can't stuff a mobility scooter up the inside of a sports bike on a wet roundabout..
Me Dad has one as is his run about and two up toy. Loves it.
It's happily ensconced in the shed with a few CBR 600's, a KTM 690 Duke, Kawasaki KDX200SR and a GasGas 250 Pro trials bike. He's in his 70's and loves it. Twist and go, with a large capacity for red wine.
Umm, I'm not advocating it, but this technology is an option to continue leaning into our dotage.
