Yoho all! (Its been ages since my last log in) - Been a busy couple years, and although I didn't do many miles on the old girl last year, she's still alive, kicking and Im planning on a good year of riding this year.

Last year she had a full service, new chain and sprockets, fork service and oil change, few other bits n bobs (And yes all done by the wonderful Trevini as always)!

I noticed last year she had a drop or two of coolant leaking. Trev sorted it out, but after standing again for another winter, last weekend I blew off the dust and started her up. (First push, 3 months sat in the cold without hardly even looking at her and away she went), anyhow, pesky coolant leak is back, and a bit worse than before. Noticeable puddle trickled along the top of the engine and dripped of the LH crash bars. Its leaking from here:

Notice the pinky residue.

What would be the best course of action?

new o-ring in the thermostat housing lid (where the pink is coming from). If that doesn't work replace the lid.

If yuou trust yourself with silicone sealant (not to get any in the cooling system itself, then that's a possibility too

900 with better bits. Owes me nothing, Makes me smile

:wifgeni:

Might also be worth considering using the manly blue coolant.  Pink coolant is for 9'ers. :P

Search on ebay for the part number for the o ring, there's a guy selling them from, I think, the Isle of Man, might be the Isle of White or Guernsey, or Jersey. Anyhoos, much cheaper than Fowlers. :)

Coolios, thank you both for your knowledge!

Presume will need to drain the system?

Yeah, just drain from the waterpump drain bolt after removing the rad cap.  You'll also need to remove the plastics, tank and airbox to get at the wiring for the stermofat. :)

If the cap is warped then one O ring won't seal it.  I fixed mine by fitting two.
