I have the radio on all day in the workshop and yesterday there was a discussion on the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) where it was recommended that travellers within the EU get one of these as they automatically entitle you to treatment in the public health systems (GPs and hospitals) within the EU for free or at reduced cost. It might be worth getting one of these in case you were unlucky enough to need any treatment while on the RTT or anywhere in Europe as it works in all EU countries as well as Norway and Switzerland. The EHIC is free and UK residents can find info about how to get one here.

Won't stop you spending the rest of the RTT on a trolley in A&E thou sad.gif

Every year a mate organises a poker run in aid of the lifeboats (RNLI). Usually this is towards the end of the summer and last year we got 55 bikes out. He asked me if any of the RTT attendees might be interested in doing it and, if so, he would move it forward to Sunday July 6. The poker run involves a well stewarded ride around Kerry starting from Tralee late morning with 4 stops to get your poker hand and for refreshments. It ends in a pub in the Maharees where the prizes are given out for the winning hands and there are raffles and food. That night there is a session in the pub with music. A good chance to meet some local bikers and a very good cause to support in an area where there are a lot of fishermen. Cost per entry last year was 6 euro and we got a RNLI T-shirt and key ring included.

If there are enough interested John will move the date. Whatd'ya think?

This is the list of confirmed attendees for RTT08 as far as I know. Additionally there are a few hoping to confirm that I know of. If there are more people wanting to come to Kerry it would be useful to know but there is plenty of time to finally make up your minds.

There are nine places left in the hostel and plenty of tent room.

I'm up for the poker run.

On another subject; this is probably a stupid question but do you need a passport to enter Ireland? Wicky always takes his but is not sure its actually required! One website I found says that a UK citizen does not require a passport to enter?

Any thoughts, advice? I am tempted to take it in case but if not required it is just one other thing to misplace!
