Mr Wharton can get me a box of 200 for £30+but oi only need 2.

Anyone know of any? Have tried a load of places on lion without any luck.

They are close to M3.5 X 20 which may work but I can't really find them either.

I googled american nuts and bolts. :)

No joy with my local supplier unfortunately, they do stock UNF but nothing as small as you're wanting.  No M3.5 either.

Thanks fir chicken SR. The Allen key ones are a great find, just that bolts are awkward to get to when on car and are holding an electric gizmo that fails for fun... Normally requiring roadside removal of component....I might have one of them Allen sockets somewhere as otherwise would lose the Allen bit when trying to remove.

Could you possibly tap out the holes to M4 then use standard bolts ?  Or you wanting to keep it original ?

That might be possible. The bolts go through the electrical dokickey in a metal sleeve as they also earth the component. Might be enough meat on the metal bushes to tap... Good stinkin.

6 is the screw size (from #1 -#12 diameters bigger begin at 1/4" after #12) and 40 is the number of TP.I

UNC UNF & UNEF use the same system. of diameter and TPI number combination

If not metric or UN could be British Association  - a 4 or 5BA is about the same diameter - especially if your running an older Brit motor.

It was the first thread I ever cut on a lathe, right after making the tool to cut it -1975 it were.
