I`ve seen in the past, a small folding/extending stand that can be used under the opposite side of the swingarm from the sidestand on bikes without a centre stand, to lift the rear wheel off the ground so that you can lube the chain or clean the rear wheel properly when touring. I`ve done a bit of mooching but keep coming up with paddock stands or prop stands for pushbikes. Does anybody know what the proper name for them is or where I could buy one?

Also does anybody have a recommendation for the best / easiest to use tubeless repair kit?

Ta

Someone on here made us a batch years ago, can’t remember who, but if you look up Snapjack you might find something suitable, don’t think ours cost that much though. I gave mine to someone when I bought a centrestand.

I had one of them too, but have centre stands on both my TDMs, so haven't used it for years. Probably lost it when I moved.

2004 900 - Blue with lots of goodies

2012 900 - Still adding shiny bits. Was black, changed to white and now back to black again.

It was me. :)  Still owe you a beer for that Chris. Totally forgot I've still got it tbh. Will stick it in my tool toob, if/when I find it.

Tubeless repair kit I have is an 8 piece one by Slime.  It has a pretty decent file, essential for getting rid of the bits of rubber and giving a nice round hole to plug.  My previous kit had a crap file and left bits of rubber in the hole making it harder to seal.

Dunno if he is still around. Mine resides on the bike, tucked down in the RHS rear fairing, so far unused!

I used to have a piece of 2x4 just the right length to lift up my NX650 on the side stand for chain oiling. I have a lube man oiler on my tdm otherwise I'd probably use the same method

Seems a tad expensive in comparison to the myriad of others out there!

I`m after something small, light and clean that can be popped in a backpack if necessary. A fence post would be a bit OTT!! :)

What about tyre inflation after repair? Are those little canisters any good? Or is there a miniature 12v compressor out there somewhere?

That’s the one I’ve got, except it’s AA branded! Works ok.
