Finally Back On A Tdm And Very Happy !

Hi all, after many bikes and many miles i have returned to the tdm , this time i have got myself a 900 and im really happy,  such a good do it all bike !

 

I think ive attached some pictures but not sure ive done itright :-)

 

Is there anyone down south (im in kent) that can be recommended to do servicing etc that knows about tdms? dont mind private mechanics or good shops, first time for a while ive been able to choose a garage rather than be forced into a stealer!,

 

I dont mind travelling as any riding is great fun and an excuse to go somewhere new is even better.

 

i think as my bike is just hittting 24k the valves will need doing ?  it has most service history

Well my brother lives in Snodland he is very good on bikes, he is in the LAS and sometimes works on the historical fleet. The only thing he has no kit for is doing the valve shims on TDM's, but I have a shim kit, so I could visit down there and use his garage if this needs to be done.
Generally I ask those who we help out become supporting members in return, it only costs a fiver.

If Lee is offering, then accept! It'll be done better than at a dealers! We haven't had a proper fettle day for a while!

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

I loike tay and hang sangwiches !

Hi guys , that would be great ! snodland if only a short trip away :-) .  i would much rather pay someone who enjoys working on them anyday , if its possible Lee , please let me know when might suit and i will check my shifts, i know i have 2 weeks off at the start of next month

but im happy to fit around you.

If i wanted to get some bits together for the service should i buy fancy spark plugs etc or are they just a gimmick ? what oil should i get ?

10W/40 semi synth JASO MA or MA2 oil, plugs, standard ngk are fine. Champion filters come with the big o ring.

Do they Lee ?  Seem to remember someone saying they don't include the o ring any more.

It's the champion X302 you're after qual.  You might find it to be cheaper in the motoring section, not the motorbike section of Halfrauds.

Smith and Allen or Westway oils are good oils check out eBay.

2004 900 - Blue with lots of goodies

2012 900 - Still adding shiny bits. Was black, changed to white and now back to black again.
