i always carry spare levers & cables anyway but the only thing you NEED to carry is your passport, drivers licences and vehicle docs (V5 owners papers, insurance, tax & mot)
the only things they'll ask to see if you are stopped though is your licence, insurance and owners doc. MoT and tax mean SFA outside the UK.
ps. i'm up for a run over to Prague, i havent booked the return ferry yet and dont have to be back to work until the 4th July
was thinking about heading over there after the others leave for home

GO or sit on the back-door step kicking yourself in your old age for not
Roads fine, folk fine, accomodation fine, sightseeing fine, police fine (sorry).

watch your speed if going through Switzlerand, they dont give no leeway and limits are 80kph/50mph max on anything other than motorways

Tony - I got stopped for overtaking in Austria (admittedly in a no overtaking zone), as well as the paperwork plod wanted to see my first-aid kit too - I think having all the stuff he wanted and being an old fart helped drop a 450 euro fine to a caution- although it may have been the stunning blonde travelling with me!

you got away lucky, in Switzerland the fine can be more than the value of your bike

I`m booked on the Tuesday ferry (Dunkirk), but that can be changed..... & overnight in Luxemburg on the way back from Prague to add another country to the list!
