I got the boots last time they were on. These look exactly the same. For £30, I'd say they were a great deal. Can't tell you if they keep the rain out or not but I'd say they'll do a good job. Could be more flexible at the ankle and the Velcro closing sides don't always sit right so open out a little. Not a biggie though. Decent cheap boots. Try them on in the shop because if you go by your normal size and they're not right when you get home, chances are they won't have any when you return them so you'll miss out on the bargain.

Not convinced by any of aldi's special purpose socks. I have the cycling socks and looked at the biking ones before. They just look like multi coloured socks to me! Maybe I'm not getting something?!

Their thermal undies are normally reasonably good. Compare them to big brand compression gear and you'll see the difference but they're really pretty good.

The gloves looked just ok last time. Not the only gloves about for £15 but it's not going to break the bank.

Lock was hefty enough for tenner.

I reckon I'll be there for a look at the jacket.

Got a pair of Lidl's bike boots a year or two ago, and they are great, waterproof, comfy, warm.
All boxes ticked, and at £35 IIRC good.gif

Got some socks, gloves and undies last time around... Gloves are okish as a spare pair, but the lining comes out each time you take them off and it annoys the life out of me... socks and undies are great though!

I bought the £25 biker boots last year and they're still in perfect nick. I treated them with dubbin before wearing them and I survived Aviemore last year with dry feet. In actual fact, I bought 2 pairs and still have a pair in a box for future use. They get my seal of approval. I didn't think much of the jackets and trousers but I bought a couple of pairs of socks. They're good too.

The gloves are a pretty good buy. I got a pair last year for the colder months and they keep the worst of the chill of yer mitts and are waterproof. Those Lidl socks are good as well. Not exactly merino, but warm nevertheless.I just noticed you can get exactly the same socks in the hiking sale for 50p less.

Maybe not. Could be they haven't got the stinkfoot, silver additive that us smelly bikers require tongue.gif

I won't be buying any of their gear. I'm fed up of their rip-off prices. Fluoro jacket for example £40 UK and N.I. , €60 in Republic of Ireland. Should be around €45 or so.
