She's already spent all of Dave's money going to Uni. Just been told a bloody photographer is about £1200. But I think I will just put a GoPro on my head. Should be able to get a pretty good video that way.

Back in the day, when we got hitched I gave several of my friends a couple of rolls of film and told them to use the lot and give them back to a mate who got then developed (2 sets, one for us and one for them) while we were away. We ended up with about 4 full albums at very little cost full of very individual points of view on the day, and every one was pleased to have contributed to the day.

Nowadays a few sd cards (and go pros) would be the thing.

I did my brother's wedding for him using  three Nikon DSLR's and some good lenses and a fancy Nikon digital flashgun. (three bodies to avoid changing lenses)

Know any mates in a camera club with decent DSLR's ?

Get them to use the RAW setting plus a medium jpeg. That way you have the RAW files which is like a digital negative plus a few jpegs to put up in the web instantly.

Jpegs throw much of the data away in camera leaving little to work with later

if you pull the Raw into Lightroom you can pick white balance an all that to make the JPEG render near perfect.

For tickling the image of the bride and mother inlaw to make them look absolutely their best, use some pretty presets brushes.

A good tool called 'liquify' I use on ladies of a certain age to make them look slimmer. Always good be in favour with the mum inlaw. All the top models have a photoshop tech to take out  'blemishes' They don't really look like the glossy centrefold in real life.

linky to one of the final renders where an annoying sign had to be cloned out

With all the TDM's that will be going you might need to consider doubling the size of the cake and having emergency cake supplies on hand   :cake eating:

These days everyone shows up with digital camera.  Friends wedding last year they got everyone to send them copies of their photos and put another album together.  Her favorite photo of the whole wedding is one a guest took rather than an official photographer one.

I agree each guest has a unique perspective of the event, and they can often take THE photo of the event.

I was thinking that with the cost of hiring a photographer so high. I'd prefer to buy 2 £600 SLR's and give them away. My best man is a good photographer but I want him to enjoy the day, But I also have a DSLR. So that would make 4 decent cameras. Must be able to get some decent photos out of that lot.

With regards to cake I'll probable buy 20 cakes and stack them on top of each other in a corner. That'd still be cheaper than having a wedding cake made.

She's quite a bit bigger now and I could sell her for no less than £6k. Partially trained (only needs finishing), with good potential for further development or breeding. 1 month guarantee and 1 free retraining.

The only possible answer to this is. Yes......it said it was cold so I spared it from the hose.
