I think the Tracer will piss all over those, I've ridden a V Strom, it's an OK bike but no TDM, And not having ridden the Versys I cant comment? but the owners forum is a bit of a mixed bag of foibles especially the vibes! Just wait till the press get there hands on a Tracer, It'll be a wonder bike for a week or two, then when it's in a comparison test with group of mismatched machines it will only be mediocre! but if we trawl the net and look for the early tests and reviews of the TDM all those years ago it will follow a similar pattern to what the Tracer will experience but it's the owners who bought and stuck with the bike that find out the true character of the TDM, not some 5 minute thrash by a journo who's influenced by how many goodies were shoved his way by the manufacturer!............But let's look at the specs from Yamaha!!!!!......can the V Strom and Versys measure up to this??????......

Lets just hope they have the camchain tensioner problem on the first MT09 engines sorted out in the Tracer.
Also it will be a bit of a screamer (triple at 10,000 rpm) rather than a rumbler (twin at 8500 rpm, albeit with a funny twisted crank to make it sound like a 90deg v twin))
I prefer a twin 'cos I like twins. Only two more shims to deal with when the time comes I suppose.

Same price as the Tigger 800. I guess it's aimed squarely at competing against it eh.

The new Triumph 800 is a much better looking bike IMO. I'll find out in the week when I go and have a look.

I agree the triumph is better looking, cracking
but if you put the miles on a bike the 12K valve check would be an issue,( for me), its only around £500 + if you dont need any parts.
the mt -09 enjun, is 24K fot the valve check services, makes better sense,
Triumph servicing is like BMW prices, I've been on the tiger owners site, and some seem to defend it,
I likes cheapish biking

Just about to replace my written-off Thruxton with a British assembled TDM clone. Well its a a 900cc (ish), 120 degree crank, aspiring to off-roadiness twin. The Triumph scrambler. The Bonnevilles are a very engaging ride and simples for the two left-handed home mechanic.

Care to elaborate? Aesthetics, quality of finish, performance, price, what?

I thought that about the shrouds around the rad from the videos. Horrible.Body work looks like an afterthought especially the bits around the rad. Looks unfinished somehow. T
