Hi folks - after last years Ireland G2G and probably somewhere after my third pint I volunteered or was volunteered to organize the 2010 event.
So I just want anyone interested to peg this date into their calendar. We are looking at the weekend of 23rd July. I have to go and scout a route out beforehand but possibly friday night in Roscommon, which will give anyone coming from down south a good days ride. Then Saturday night in Donegal probably up around Killybegs.
If I can get some indication of interest before end of April it would be helpful as I plan to go up and scout the route around then.
TrevTheRev who tagged along to last years G2G will work this with me - he is sadly inflicted with a Honda but we might talk him out of that dirty habit!
Cheers, good.gif

Have you ever lent someone 20 quid and never seen it again? It was probably worth it.

Hi - Due to problems with cover in work I can't make it for the July 23rd date. I know some of you have already signed up so I'm hoping you can change to JUNE 25th-27th instead.
I'm really sorry for the hassle and if this is not okay for the majority of those already signed up maybe someone else can take up the reins?

Anyway - I'll PM each of you individually just to make sure you are aware of the new dates and I'll update this thread with the concensus.

Thanks - Hope it works out,
Alex

I hope to be in France then, but don't worry if it suits most of the others.

Sorry about that Slocoach - I'm going to be lonely down at the back on my own now!
Maybe we will have another meet-up over the summer as well...

Good to hear you can still make it Jim - I think we have 7 now. I'll ping a couple of the other locals as well as the time gets nearer.
Cheers - APW

I have been doing some homework and this is the proposal for the Ireland G2G...I was having trouble sorting a workable plan for Donegal so I proposing a Mayo destination. I have arranged a campsite in Westport which I have stayed on several times. It's one of the best sites I have used, it is family-oriented but I don't expect that we will be up roarin'n'shoutin all night!

Meet up friday in Westport June 25th at Campsite I have arranged camping fees of €10/head/night based on the fact that there will be primarily one-man tents but we get a group discount given that I expect 6 to 12 heads in all.
Saturday I have proposed a 100mile circuit with some amazing scenery - I will try to get down there beforehand to scout out the chocalate cake... Saturday Route

Westport town is a bit of a walk but it will help stretch the back out after the day on the bike...so we can go there for dinner and pints..there are lots of good restaurants in Westport and it's one of the nicest towns in Ireland with the possible exception of Dingle.

Sunday will be a long ride home for most so maybe go for a decent breakfast and on home from there.

Any comments, additional interest, questions, abuse welcome!!
Thanks
APW
