Cats the Eagles nest is in Germany but bordering Austria, it's a glorius part of the world,, i've been up and down that mountain to many times to count,, also gone down it on a tobbogan, a big tray and a canoe lol,, dont know what your itinery is,, but Berchtesgaden is a nice town for lunch, underground parking,, and lake Konigsee is well worth a visit up the road,, a trip on the boat is fantastic, one of the men plays a bugle so you can hear the echos from the mountains, the Rossfeld national park near the Eagles nest ( often referred to as Khelsteinhaus ) is very panoramic and worth a visit,, dont know which direction your arriving there from but take a look at the Deutsche Alpine strasse which ends in Berchtasgaden.

As your visiting the Eagles nest you may find this an interesting visit as it's in the same local.

Just in today from a 3000+km trip down to to the Alps, French, Swiss and Italian. Based myself in Bourg St Maurice and toured out from there. Glorious weather, fantastic roads (where they exisited!), quiet too. Saw only one TDM 900 and if I had a euro for every BMW I saw it would pay for the trip. Have just watched the photos and video, but they do not do justice to the actually feeling. Enjoy yours and I hope the weather is kind.

Or as a revolutionary concept, you could try spending a week without the internet rolleyes.gif

I usually only ever send the occasional text message when I'm abroad.

My new top box is here for our trip!

Now for a trial pack.

Do we have a strategy for cooking kit etc. or are all going fully equipped?
